The week of 16-19 May 2016 was an important week for girls and women throughout the world with the hosting Women Deliver's 4th Global Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was also a milestone for our Motherhood Projects which incorporate the Alliance for Maternal Health Equality (AMHE), Safe Motherhood Week (SMW) and the Pregnancy and Medicine Initiative (PMI).
A working dinner co-hosted by the AMHE on Universal Access to Maternal Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Europe showed that multi-stakeholder partnership can really make a difference, generating recommendations at policy level on the one hand, and on the other finding practical and concrete solutions to existing problems.
We are very grateful to all our partners who have been involved in our Motherhood Projects.
The positive results and the momentum that we have been able to generate is an indication that the whole is truly greater than the sum of the parts. The partnership dimension to our work is being recognised and embraced by all those involved. It was an energising week which has set the tone and pace for the way ahead.
